Axel is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Shivom, a data-driven next generation precision-medicine company in the blockchain space. He has over 25 years of R&D leadership experience in genomics, epigenetics, biomarker discovery, Bio-IT, ageing & longevity.
Axel is also experienced in exploring strategic opportunities in the fields of precision medicine, multi-omics, digital health, and genomics data analytics. He works on translating scientific discoveries into practical applications to help understand, treat, and prevent complex disorders, but also to promote cutting-edge technologies that might transform healthcare and the way we age. Axel is also a member of the Blockchain Research Institute in Toronto. He holds a PhD in Human Genetics from the University of Cologne.
