Yulia Chumachenko specializes in civil, contract, labour, antitrust and investment law. Before joining AEQUITAS in 1997, she worked as a civil law counsellor to a number of companies. According to international rating publications Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal, Yulia Chumachenko is among Kazakhstan's best lawyers in labour law.
Ms. Chumachenko possesses extensive expertise in the field of corporate and contract relations, healthcare and securing of obligations.
She is currently concentrating on contract and labour law issues, deal structuring and various matters related to the legal support of business in Kazakhstan.
Ms. Chumachenko graduated in 1991 from the department of law of the Kazakh State University where she was specializing in civil and commercial law.
She is a member of the Kazakhstan Petroleum Lawyers' Association (KPLA) and the Kazakhstan Bar Association. She also serves as an arbitrator for the International Arbitration Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IAC), Center for International and Domestic Arbitration of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs
and International Arbitration Tribunal of the IUS Legal Center.
She is the author of many articles and publications on various aspects of civil, labour, merchant shipping and healthcare legislation published in local and foreign periodicals.
Ms. Chumachenko is a respondent for the World Bank's Doing Business legislation monitoring program.
