Philipp is a passionate data scientist who firmly believes that data-driven decision making will significantly transform industries and economies around the globe.
He holds a PhD in theoretical physics and started his career as a data scientist in 2009 as a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since then, Philipp has been leading data science teams across various industries and with a strong focus on life science and healthcare. At SAP Global Data Science Consulting he developed smart solutions for globally operating customers and developed the life science sector.
Philipp built and led the Global Data Science capability of Boehringer Ingelheim from 2015-2020, driving the company's digital transformation and demonstrating significant impact on BOI. The artificial intelligence solutions he developed with his team enabled Boehringer Ingelheim to adopt industry-leading positions in key areas.
Philipp is the CEO and founder of quantLab (UG) an award-winning company specializing in developing disruptive high impact solutions for biopharma commercial operations. Since October 2020 Philipp is a partner at the Boston Consulting Group focusing on new data-driven solutions for pharmaceutical brand commercialization.
