Interview: Jim Keon – President, Canadian Generic Pharmaceutical Association (CGPA)

Jim Keon, President of the CGPA, discusses how the Canadian generics industry is adapting to the current period of political transition and how it engages in talks with the government and other stakeholders to educate them about the costly and complex process of generic drug production. Jim, we had the pleasure to meet you in 2013, where you discussed the generics industry’s development in Canada over the last two decades as well as some of the key challenges and opportunities they were facing. How would you characterize the moment Canada is in terms of the generics and healthcare landscape?
"The entire pharmaceutical supply chain has had to adapt over the past five years and it will be the case for the next few years – probably in a more dramatic manner."
