SICHH launches a platform to simplify scientific communication

The Swiss Integrative Center for Human Health (SICHH) and EIKON, Fribourg’s Vocational School of Applied Arts, have launched a new scientific communication platform called “Connect People with Science”. Its goal is to improve and simplify information on Covid-19 for the general public.

Supported by the World Health Organization, this new platform is the result of a partnership between the Swiss Integrative Center for Human Health (SICHH) and EIKON, Fribourg’s Vocational School of Applied Arts. In order to raise awareness and inform the population about the Sars CoV-2 virus, SICHH has recently developed an infographic tool that tracks the figures related to the progression of the virus in Switzerland.

Located in the blueFACTORY innovation district, the specialized diagnostic center will now offer illustrations and various other visuals to inform the population about the current situation and the power of action of each individual. The “Connect People with Science” platform focuses on three key areas : scientific information, its simplification and its availability to the general public.

SICHH has assembled a multidisciplinary team in the form of a jury of experts to ensure high quality in the execution of this project.

Scientific expertise at the service of genuine and responsible communication

While SICHH already offers an online dashboard monitoring the evolution of the virus in Switzerland, a second aspect is added to the informative mission : the simplification of scientific information. This approach will thus make it possible to reach out to everyone by offering simplified scientific data in order to maximize joint action.

Ms. Isabelle Wachsmuth, Communication and Project Manager at the World Health Organization (WHO) and in charge of the Art Impact 4 Health initiative, explains : “Communication, and especially its quality, is the central element in establishing fair and harmonious human relations. In the context of a crisis, it is even more essential to enable resilience. To build long-term relationships based on trust, it is necessary to be able to communicate in an authentic and respectful manner. This is the purpose of this Covid-19 communication project to be able to explore and understand what the most adequate ways are to contribute to living well together. The perception of the world is so different for everyone. Do not forget it, take it into account.”
